90 Landscape Symbols (dwg format)
We have developed a block (symbol) library for use by landscapers and garden designers. The library consists of a set of 90 drawings in AutoCAD dwg format suitable for use in the USA (Imperial) unit system environment. Each symbol has been drawn 3 feet in diameter and can be scaled up or down on or after insertion.
To purchase a set ($19.95 as a download ZIP file), click on the 'Add to cart ' button below.
If you decide to purchase the block library, you will be directed to PayPal and can purchase a set of symbols using your existing PayPal account, create a new PayPal account or, if you prefer, pay by credit card. PayPal securely hold your financial details, not us. At the completion of the payment, you will receive an email note with directions on how to download your symbol library.
Notes:
- Please note that you will need a copy of WinZIP to extract the landscape symbols. There are 90 separate files within the ZIP file, each has the extension .dwg and can be used in the usual Draw>Insert Block sequence while in the AutoCAD, IntelliCAD, DraftSight or MicroStation drawing editor. If you do not have access to a copy of WinZip, here is a link to download and install a free application that will allow you to unzip the file.
- If you have any problems completing the transaction, please send us an email describing the difficulty and we will try to remedy the problem.
Each symbol occupies three layers, the 'fancy' symbol you see is placed on a layer called L-PLNT-SYMBOL. A drawing suitable for a construction team to work from, can be generated by turning off the layer containing the 'fancy' symbol (L-PLNT-SYMBOL) and turning on a layer L-CONSTRUCTION. A third layer (L-PLNT-NAME) containing hidden attributes is normally turned off, but it can be used to store information on botanical name, common name, size, etc.

Symbol layer turned off to show just the location of the plant - used by construction staff to place specimens.

Attributes can be stored with symbols and extracted with the ATTDEF command.
